The Visionaries Choir was formed in 2015 by John Delaney, Frank Kelly, and Peter Gorey as part of the The Visionaries School of Music, which also offered instrumental tuition.

The choir continued to operate online throughout COVID lockdowns and still welcomes members weekly on Zoom and Jamulus from all parts of Ireland (including Belfast, Donegal, and Roscommon at present) who join in with the in-person gathering of members able to travel in to Hill Street each week.

The atmosphere is really friendly and supportive and audio learning resources are provided for everything they sing. There is no audition as such, just a voice range exercise to place the singer correctly in the choir.

Rehearsal Information: Saturday mornings from 10:30am-12:30pm September-July

Additional Rehearsal Information: The choir takes short breaks from rehearsals at Christmas and Easter. Rehearsals start at 10:30am but members are encouraged to arrive from 10am at the venue.

Upcoming Concerts & Performances: The Visionaries Choir performs two concerts every year at Christmas and a summer concert in July. They also make guest appearances at various events as they arise. They will feature on the TG4 choir competition Cúrfá in 2023.

Additional Accessibility Information: The premises of The National League for the Blind is very accessible for blind and vision-impaired people. The choir welcomes all comers who are blind or vision-impaired and who wish to sing. The rehearsal venue is very accessible on public transport with the DART, LUAS and numerous buses stopping nearby. Dublin Bus offers a guidance service with very good people on duty on Saturday mornings.
